Where I've Been ~ Summer Edition ~ Pt.3 Look what I got!

So I got some awesome things in the mail over the summer.

Cover is even more amazing
in person!
I got my signed copy of Solstice by Donna Burgess. I was lucky enough to win it from The Indie Book Club Blog. (Definitely want to check them out they have some awesome posts and giveaways!) You also want to check out this book, awesome!

I also won a package of Think Gum from MaeGal's Back to School Blast Giveaway Hop!  Considering how scatter-brained I've been recently this looks like something I should try A.S.A.P.!  What do you guys think?

I also received coupons for a free sample of  UnReal  candy from BzzAgent for one of the new  campaigns there that I signed up for. Just got this one and will be picking up my candy to try out on my next shopping trip! Can't wait. Healthy candy! Healthy CHOCOLATE candy! Mmmmmmm....chocolate....

Uh...sorry chocolate moment there. I'll be sure to let you guys know how it tastes!

I also FINALLY recieved my Wooliteers Sample and Share pack from Crowdtap.  I say finally because I was supposed to receive it a while back but didn't get it until about a week ago.  I really wasn't aggrivated by it arriving late, I was more aggrivated by the fact that I first got emails telling me it would be late, but then got more emails saying that I was going to be penalized because I hadn't turned in my report on the samples I recieved.  When I hadn't even gotten them yet!  I still plan on participating at Crowdtap.  This was the first action/campaign that I qualified to participate in, so maybe it was only a one time thing? Hope so. They did put up an apology on the action page for the issues with it. So at least they ackowledged the problems they had so that is a good thing. Will keep ya'll updated.

Just a note there will be one more Summer Edition of Where I've Been before I get back to the regular ones. Sorry life's been crazy here in the Wild West and have fallen behind. But I promise it will have lots of pics and be lots of fun!

'til next time!

Bizenghast
By: M. Alice LeGrow
Amazon

Summery from Amazon:

Time passes in every town...except one. When a young girl moves to the forgotten town of Bizenghast, she uncovers a terrifying collection of lost souls that leads her to the brink of insanity. One thing becomes painfully clear: The residents of Bizenghast are just dying to come home.A finalist in TOKYOPOP's Rising Stars of Manga™ competition, Marty LeGrow has crafted an unforgettable Gothic drama that will leave readers haunted long after the last page is turned.

My Review:

So as I said before I picked this one up at random. My daughter brought it home from school and of course left it where I could find it.  The cover was obviously the first thing that caught my eye. (It is the cover after all) But look at it, it is amazing! I was really drawn into how the only color is the eyes.  The title alone really caught my attention too!
Even after reading the summery on the back I still wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Something creepy? Dark maybe? But hopefully something interesting. I was definitely not disappointed!
Dinah has already had enough tragedy in her young life.  Her aunt is debating having her committed.  Vincent is her only real friend and they regularly 'escape' her home to go to his place. On one such occasion they find themselves in an old cemetery in the midst of the local woods.  Dinah's life then becomes even more complicated.
I loved the story. I liked how the author put in local news articles to go with the story.  I liked how Vincent is always looking out for Dinah, even when he doesn't have to.
Click here to read the rest of my review!

As I said above I hope to have some more reviews up for this challenge in the next few days. Be sure to check the link at the top of this post to check out the awesome books that the other contestants are reading!

Gigi & Co. Shoes Vampire Shoes Review & Giveaway!

So yesterday I told you how I found out about the awesomeness that is Gigi & Co. Shoes.  So today I'm going to tell you all about the amazing shoes that I got to try out and how you have a chance to win a pair of your own!!

So in my conversation with Gigi she offered to let me test out a pair of her awesome shoes. (Very cool. The wonderful advantages of blogging huh?) So I spent hours pouring over all the shoes available on her site. OMG! There were soooo many to choose from. I originally was planning on finding a pair to match a dress that I had recently picked up but hadn't had a chance to wear yet. But after seeing all the options I had to choose from the only logical choice was to scrap that idea and plan an outfit around the shoes.  (Click here check out the shoes you will agree)

I finally decided on this pair from the Funtasma line.  I was sooo excited.  These are just soooo me.  The best part they were just as cute in real life as they are in the pic!

See:
Shoes!
Check out the buckles!

*Sigh* I sooo do love shoes!
Now I know you're thinking those are great but the heals. So high! Right. Actually they don't even feel that high since there is a built in platform in the shoe.

After deciding on the shoes I went hunting for a dress. That took even longer than the shoes if only because I just had to find something that wouldn't take away from the awesomeness of the shoes.  I finally decided on this:

It's a simple little black number. Not too short and the ruffles are over the top. Nice huh?

Now back to those shoes! I was kinda worried that they didn't have half sizes. I'm a 6 1/2, but Gigi was really reassuring and helpful. She set me up with a size 7.  They amazingly fit like a dream.  They didn't cause me any problems balance wise nor did they take away from the hidden platform so even after wearing them I didn't get any extra pain in my ankles or feet. (I wore a size up once before and yea was not pretty on my poor little feet the next day) Can you tell I love these shoes?!?

This is the pair I want to get for
 Christmas. Can you just imagine
these with a cute little
Mrs. Claus dress?
The best part is that Gigi's doesn't just have over the top heals. They have a huge variety! Flats, pumps, boots. Shoes for men and kids as well as women!

Gigi & Co. Shows has given me a code to share with all my readers to take 15% off their online order.  Just use:
